The First 24-Hour News Channel in Cambodia

The first 24-hour Cambodian News Channel (CNC) is a sister station of CTN.

One of The Cambodia Daily's front-page news on June 29 is about a round-the-clock news program or a 24-hour news TV station channel called Cambodian News Channel (CNC). It will be launched officially on July 16. The goal of CNC is to become like that of CNN, BBC, CNBC or Channel News Asia. The paper noted that CNC is a sister station of CTN which, belongs to well-known business tycoon Kith Meng.

While this first 24-hour news channel is surely a milestone in Cambodian Television broadcasting, its impact and ripple effect to the small Cambodian population is too early to predict.

In 2008, the first 24-convenient stores popped up by the major streets of Phnom Penh. Few months ago, a 24-hour cyber cafe is opened by Savanna Shopping Center, and now it's 24-hour news channel. What would be the next 24-hour thing?
