Here is a message by the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Hunsen, taken from his Facebook Page.
The passing of the King Father happened to be on Pchum ben Holiday. What a coincidence! Cambodian people celebrates the Pchum Ben Holiday by visiting at least 7 temples to pay tribute and give offering to their ancestors. The holiday is also a time where they visit their relatives in their home towns.
It looks like the holiday will be extended as national week of mourning is expected to begin on Wednesday.
