World Of Sports (WOS), a sole distributor of branded, original and imported sports products in Cambodia has been closed temporarily. The company's website, Facebook page, twitter account and other on-line listing have been removed recently. World Of Sports listing on Yellow Page, however, still exist but sooner or later it will be taken out as well.
World Of Sports is a Singaporean group retail chain stores launched in 1991. Since then, it has grown to 20 retail stores in Singapore, 15 retail stores in Malaysia, and 6 retail stores in Vietnam. The first store in Cambodia was opened officially on November 20, 2011. After one year and four months operations, World of Sports Cambodia is closed in April 2013. The closure is not permanent; it could be re-opened in the future. Within over a year, such pricey sports goods has not hit the Cambodian mass market where lots of fake and cheap products are sold.
